Double beta decay in /sup 82/Se, /sup 128/Te and /sup 130/Te

Conference · · AIP Conf. Proc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5959828
The results of a /sup 82/Se double beta decay experiment in a time projection chamber are presented together with a brief review of the geochemical measurements of /sup 128/Te and /sup 130/Te. The TPC experiment has shown the /sup 82/Se half life to be >1.0 x 10/sup 20/ years at 68% confidence, consistent with geochemical data, but in conflict with nuclear shell model calculations. The tellurium controversy continues, with new geochemical measurements being proposed.
