Multicompartmental analysis of in vivo tissue distribution: Data of monoclonal tracers for tumor immunoscintigraphy
Data from in vivo tissue distribution studies of 10 different monoclonal /sup 131/I-tracers for tumor immunoscintigraphy were obtained in cancer patients bearing or not the tumors for which the tracers were specific. In this study total of 52 patients were studied (4-8 patients each tracer), experiments being performed with a computerized gamma-camera over 5-7 days. Experimental data from each patient included: whole body retained activity, plasma disappearance and urine excreted activity curves, uptake curves in the liver and spleen, and in the tumor and thyroid if present. The following tracers were tested: 763.74T-IgG/sub 1/, 225.28S-IgG/sub 2a/, 225.28S-F(ab')/sub 2/ (all anti-melanoma), F023CS-IgG/sub 1/, F0235C5-F(ab')/sub 2/, F023C5-Fab (anti CEA),16B13-F(ab')/sub 2/, 534F9-IgM, 1IG11-IgM (anti lung cancer), and KC4-IgG/sub 1/ (anti adenocarcinoma). The model depicted here generated computer simulated average curves in the compartments identified for each tracer, allowing to define the metabolic pathways of the tracers. These data were used to obtain a better scintigraphic definition of the tumor sites, by correcting for the activity time courses in each compartment so identified.
