This report presents a derivation of the relationship between the reactivity of a subcritical nuclear system and the quantity measured by the Cf-252 Source Driven Noise Technique. This experimental method uses the output signals of a fission chamber containing a Cf-252 source and those of two neutron detectors to form a particular ratio of four auto- and cross-power spectral densities. Several versions of the relationship between the measured ratio and the desired quantity -- the system reactivity -- have previously appeared in the literature. The result presented in this report does not agree with the most widely used previous version, nor does it agree with another proposed version. The origin of the differences is discussed.
