Delaware Basin. Twofreds saved by CO/sub 2/ flood

Journal Article · · Drill Bit; (United States)
OSTI ID:5955811
Production in a W. Texas field that was expected to have been depleted by 1975 not only has continued - but increased - since it was flooded with CO/sub 2/ 8 years ago. The field is the 8000-acre Twofreds, which stretches through portions of Loving, Ward, and Reeves Counties. Operator of the CO/sub 2/ flood, which has boosted its production production by ca. 600 bopd, is HNG Fossil Fuels CO. This move, at a time when tertiary recovery technology was in its infancy (and oil was only $3.50/bbl), was spurred by several factors, which are described.
