Compliant offshore structure with fixed base
A compliant offshore structure is described, comprising: a base rigidly secured to the ocean floor; a substantially vertical tower extending upward from the base, the tower having a bottom end portion, an upper end portion and a structure joining the bottom and upper end portions, the bottom end portion being substantially free from vertical load transmitting contact with the base, the longitudinal axis of the tower defining the central axis of the structure; and a plurality of elongate stabilizing members arranged in an array surrounding the central axis, each stabilizing member having a first end secured to the base and a second end secured to the tower at a stabilizing member anchorage located on the tower at a position above the base.
