This patent describes a high-power flowing-gas laser consisting of an outer housing with a sealed wall able to withstand a pressure gradient, and an optical system with a laser channel composed of a number of legs placed in a polygonal configuration. The patent further describes an impeller for producing a gas flow through the laser channels and a gas flow channel with an outlet end formed with a pair of aligned laser openings for accommodating the laser beam of the respective laser channel leg. The patent also details the modality of a partition wall between the impeller outlet and the inlet of the gas flow channels which is a principal feature of the described laser that prevents the significant flow of gas through the laser openings.
