Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)

The results of /sup 57/Fe M/umlt o/ssbauer-effect studies onhigh-/ital T//sub /ital c// Tl/sub 2/Ca/sub 1.5/Ba/sub 1.7/(Cu/sub 1/minus//ital x//Fe/sub /ital x//)/sub 3/O/sub 9/with /ital x/=0.01, 0.05, and 0.07 are reported in this paper. TheM/umlt o/ssbauer spectra depend on concentration and show three quadrupole doubletsthat can be related to different Cu sites at different phases and to the numberof oxygen vacancies. The site preference of Fe is identified by fittedM/umlt o/ssbauer results. The parameter of a M/umlt o/ssbauer spectrum run at 77 Kindicates that in the superconducting state the density of /ital s/ electrons atCu sites is different from that of the normal state. The data from x-raydiffraction are given for /ital x/=0.01 and 0.07 and analyzed resultsshow that the 2:1:2:2 phase and 2:2:2:3 phase have an intergrowth in oursamples.
