Cornubert et al. (Physica D, 47 (1991) p. 241) have recently examined boundary conditions for lattice gas simulations of fluid flow. In this report, the same result as obtained by Cornubert et al. is developed by examining the symmetry near the boundary of simple flows, and a new technique is suggested that should provide a higher order of accuracy. A heuristic interpretation of no-slip boundary conditions for lattice Boltzmann and lattice gas simulations is developed. An improvement is suggested which consists of including the wall nodes in the collision operation. 6 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab.
