Uniaxial-compression-test series on Tram tuff
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:59470
Twenty-five uniaxial compression experiments were performed on samples of the Tram Member of the Center Flat Tuff obtained from drill hole USW-G1 at Yucca Mountain on the Nevada Test Site. The water saturated samples were deformed at nominal strain rates ranging from 10{sup -2} to 10{sup -6} sec{sup -1}, atmospheric pressure and room temperature. Resultant unconfined compressive strengths, axial strains to failure, Young`s moduli and Poisson`s ratios ranged from 14.5 to 69.2 MPa, .0029 to .0052, 5.17 to 22.5 GPa and .09 to .38, respectively.
