Gross energy requirements of marine transport. Research report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:5939301
Information is provided indicating how various forms of water transport use energy. This is done by identifying and estimating the major direct and indirect energy requirements. The major inputs considered are fuel consumption at sea, construction, maintenance, and cargo handling. Results are given for ocean-going freight vessels, liquid tankers, dry bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, ocean-going passenger vessels, and short-sea mixed cargo craft.
