Study of high-mass e/sup +/e/sup -/ pairs at the CERN ISR

A sample of e/sup +/e/sup -/ events produced in pp interactions at a center of mass energy ..sqrt..s = 63 GeV and with invarient mass m/sub ee/ > 11 GeV/c/sup 2/ is discussed. The cross sections d/sup 2/sigma/dmdy at y = 0, and d sigma/dp/sub T/ are presented and the mean transverse momentum, p/sub T/, of the pairs is found to be 2.3 +- 0.4 GeV/c. Azimuthal correlations between the e/sup +/e/sup -/ pair and the associated particles are observed.
