A monochromator with a flat crystal and a Soller collimator was developed for studying soft x radiation from extended sources of the thermonuclear plasma type in tokamak devices. To increase the viewing angle the collimator has a mechanism that changes the curvature of the collimator plates over a conical surface. The viewing angle is 20/degree/ and the range of incidence angles of radiation on the crystal is 0 to 45/degree/. A coordinate-sensitive proportional chamber is used as a detector. The recording system is CAMAC compatible.
