This paper presents papers on the reclamation and revegetation of midwestern U.S. coal mines. It includes papers on the formation of acid mine drainage along with appropriate abatement techniques. The reclamation and disposal of coal mine wastes is also discussed along with soil reconstruction techniques. Two additional papers address ground subsidence issues and the use of geographic information systems to assess the location and impacts of this subsidence.
