UNC environmental surveillance report for the 100 areas - FY 1982

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5916755
The UNC Environmental Surveillance Program for the 100 Areas provides monitoring to assist in evaluating the environmental impact of 100-N Reactor facilities, the shutdown reactor facilities, and burial grounds in the retired 100 Areas. The surveillance program consists of sampling and monitoring of several environmental parameters. At 100-N Area, samples of ambient air, groundwater, vegetation, soil, and sediment are collected and analyzed along with direct radiation measurements around the 1301-N Facility and along the river shoreline. At the retired 100 Areas, soil and vegetation samples are collected and analyzed. Based on the sampling performed for the environmental surveillance program, 100 Area facilities are in compliance with applicable regulations and there is no significant adverse environmental impact from past or present reactor operations.
