Evidence for the C-N bond formation between an aldose and ethylenediamine on cobalt (III) complexes. Deuterium isotope effects on carbon-13 NMR chemical shifts

Journal Article · · J. Coord. Chem.; (United States)

The chemical shifts of the /sup 13/C signals originating from the ethylenediamine in the /sup 13/C NMR spectra of cobalt(III) complexes containing an N-glycoside derived from ethylenediamine and an aldose presume to be due to the formation of a new C-N bond are reported. Deuterium isotope effects on the /sup 13/C NMR spectra were found to be very helpful in spectra assignments and molecular structure determination. Evidence is presented for a structure involving a new C-N bond. 3 references, 1 figure, 1 table.
