Decay of an exotic qq-barg hybrid meson

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
We study decay modes and decay widths of an exotic qq-barg(1/sup - +/) meson. Three possible decay mechanisms: the process allowed by the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI) rule, the qq-barg-qq-bar mixing process and the OZI-rule-semiforbidden process: are investigated. Principal decay modes of the qq-barg(1/sup - +/,I = 1,(1/2)) into ordinary mesons are expected to be qq-barg(1/sup - +/,I = 1)..--> pi..eta and qq-barg(1/sup - +/,I = (1/2))..--> pi..K. These decay widths are predicted to be approx.50 MeV. For the qq-barg(1/sup - +/,I = 0) meson, the main decay mode into ordinary mesons depends on its mass. For m/sub q/q-barg< or approx. =1300 MeV, this meson decays mainly into ..pi pi..rho (GAMMA<1 MeV), but if m/sub q/q-barg> or approx. =1500 MeV, it decays into etaeta', KK*, and ..pi..A/sub 1/ (GAMMA> or approx. =10 MeV). We also expect OZI-rule-allowed processes such as qq-barg(1/sup - +/)..--> pi..qq-barg(0/sup - +/). This decay width is predicted to be approx.20 MeV.
