Transition densities for charge-exchange components of giant isovector resonances and the proton-neutron density distributions in nuclei

Sum rules that hold in the case of a self-consistent charge-exchange random phase approximation theory are used here to derive transition densities for the charge-exchange components of isovector giant resonances. The derived transition densities are then employed in a calculation of (..pi..(,..pi../sup 0/) cross sections.
