Progress reports for the following eight tasks are presented: systems; waste package; site; repository; regulatory and institutional; test facilities; and land acquisition. The purpose of these investigations are to develop or improve the technology of nuclear waste storage and disposal and to determine whether the selected underground rock media on or adjoining the Nevada Test Site are technically acceptable for a licensed high-level nuclear waste repository.
