Simulation of charged particle dynamics in gas medium of a fusion reactor injector

The present paper deals with the results of a number of researches on numerical simulation of phase dynamics of a fast negative ion beam in an ambipolar electrical field of a weakly ionized plasma which is produced by the beam itself in a rarefied gas just behind the ion source and in a dense gas of the neutralizer as well. The problem is solved for ensuring the phase characteristics for neutral atoms at the neutralizer exit suitable for future successful transportations of beams over the distances exceeding 40--50 metres and for their injection into a tokamak reactor.
