Title: Characteristics of radiation emulsion polymerization of vinyl monomers and three-dimensional polymerization of unsaturated oligomers

Journal Article · · High Energy Chem. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)

Ionizing radiation is an effective means for initiating the polymerization reaction, mainly radical polymerization. However, despite the fact that investigations in this field have already been carried out intensively for decades, among numerous polymerization methods practical application has been found only for processes for obtaining filled materials (plastic wood, concrete-polymer, etc.) under the action of gamma irradiation, and three-dimensional polymerization of unsaturated oligomers under the action of accelerated electrons. In this paper the authors consider work in the field of radiationinduced emulsion polymerization and radiation-induced three-dimensional polymerization of oligomers.
