616 Nonradioactive Dangerous Waste Storage Facility Dangerous Waste Permit Application

The Hanford Site is operated by the US Department of Energy-Richland Operations Office. The 616 Nonradioactive Dangerous Waste Storage Facility receives and stores nonradioactive dangerous waste from various Hanford generating units until the waste can be transported offsite for treatment, storage, and/or disposal. Storage of this nonradioactive dangerous waste is regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976. The single dangerous waste permit identification number issued to the Hanford Site by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Washington State Department of Ecology is US Environmental Protection Agency/State Identification Number WA 7890008967. This identification number encompasses a number of waste management units within the Hanford Site. Westinghouse Hanford Company is a major contractor to the US Department of Energy-Richland Operations Office and serves as co-operator of the 616 Nonradioactive Dangerous Waste Storage Facility, the waste management unit addressed by this permit application. The 616 Nonradioactive Dangerous Waste Storage Facility Dangerous Waste Permit Application consists of both a Part A and a Part B permit application.
