A fuel composition is described for an internal combustion engine comprising: (a) a major portion of normally liquid hydrocarbon fuel and (b) a minor amount, as a deposit inhibitor additive, of a condensate product of the process comprising: (i) reacting a dibasic acid anhydride with a polyoxyiso-propylenediamine; (ii) reacting the maleamic acid with a polyalkylene polyamine, thereby forming a condensate product and; (iii) recovering the condensate product.
