Unlike previous burners that operate without air and fuel-gas premixing, Gaz de France's non-premix gas burner simultaneously achieves a complete, intensive combustion and a very high flexibility of operation. The burner's mixing chamber employs counter-rotation of fuel gas and air to produce a high-velocity gas discharge that results in high combustion temperatures; an aerodynamic cooling system allows the burner's metallic walls to withstand the extremely high flame temperature.
