The authors show the characteristics of single-stage and double-stage compressors designed to operate as part of a refrigerating-machine conditioning system. It has been shown that using an IR attains a high degree of regulation with low relative energy losses with a few compressor stages operating at high Mach numbers. The characteristics of a centrifugal compressor for conditioning systems at various angles of adjustment of the IR louvers, both single and double are shown. The change in efficiency of single and double-stage compressors versus load and variation in efficiency values when working in nominal operating conditions and regulating with an IR are presented.
