This patent describes a hydrocarbon solution containing a polymer complex. The complex is present at a level of 0.05 to 20 weight percent of the solution. The polymer complex is a complex of: a metal sulfonated ethylene propylene terpolymer having a sulfonate content of 4 to 100 milliequivalents per 100 grams and a metal cation selected from the group consisting of zinc and transition elements, and an ethylene propylene copolymer or terpolymer having pendant basic amine groups, the pendant basic groups ranging from about 4 meg. to about 100 meg. The ratio of the polymer containing the metal cation to the polymer containing basic amine groups is about 10 to about 0.1. The ethylene propylene copolymers are grafted with maleic anhydride and subsequently reacted with N-aminopropyl morpholine.
