  1. Westinghouse Electric Corp., Madison, PA (United States)
Westinghouse offers a power plant portfolio that includes pressurized water reactors (PWRs) ready for today's power needs, as well innovative PWR designs to meet the energy demands of the future. The Westinghouse APWR is a large plant that comes in two sizes, 1300 MWe and 1000 MWe. The APWR 1300 has earned a Preliminary Design Approval from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and stands ready to meet today's reactor needs now. Looking to the future, Westinghouse is developing the AP600, an advanced passive PWR that generates 600 MWe. The simplicity, proven safety, and modular construction techniques of the AP600 make it the leading technology for the next generation of nuclear power plants.
