Neutron streaming through straight and single bend slots

Calculations have been performed using the Monte Carlo code MCNP to determine the neutron streaming through various straight and single-bend slots in a one-meter-thick shield. A uniform plane source emitting 14-MeV neutrons with a cosine angular distribution was used in the analyses. The results obtained have direct implications regarding neutron-streaming problems that will be encountered in the shielding analyses of tokamak fusion reactors which are constructed from pie-shaped shield/vacuum chamber segments.
