Selection of a calculation model for nozzle flow in high-temperature combustion-product gasdynamic lasers

A description is given of a mathematical model for a vibrational-nonequilibrium flow of combustion products of hydrocarbon fuels in nozzles of CO/sub 2/ gasdynamic lasers. The values of the gain calculated using this model are compared with the results of measurements. This comparison demonstrates that the flow model can be used to analyze the characteristics of CO/sub 2/ gasdynamic lasers utilizing combustion products of hydrocarbon fuels.
