This bill was introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives on January 3, 1991 to amend the Solid Waste Disposal Act to place certain restrictions on the interstate disposal of solid waste. One of the key features of the bill includes provisions for the transportation and disposal of solid waste outside the state where the waste was generated, but only in accordance with an approved management plan and with the proper permits. A state that has an approved plan has the authority to restrict acceptance of solid waste originating in other states. This bill does not apply to any hazardous waste.
