Parity nonconservation effects in radiative-capture cross sections

A theoretical analysis of the effects of parity nonconservation in the cross sections for radiative capture of thermal neutrons is carried out without the use of free parameters. Since the results obtained are in satisfactory agreement with experiment, we consider the possibilities for extracting quantitative information about the weak-interaction matrix elements. Various ways of experimentally checking the theoretical predictions are proposed.
