Nearly stoichiometric LiPdH{sub {ital x}} with a unit-cell volume of 31.3 A{sup 3} is found to be nonsuperconducting above 4 K. The compound is comparatively soft in the {ital c}-axis direction. The temperature coefficient of the electrical resistance increases with increasing temperature.
