After a brief history of the International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling Program and the United States involvement in the pyranometry subtask prior to 1984, involvement in the pyranometry work during 1984 is detailed, including sensitivity tests, temperature response, and a determination of sensitivity of pyranometers during the eclipse of May 30, 1984.
