Animals and feeds in the Dallesport, Washington area of Klickitat County and The Dalles, Oregon area had a normal fluoride level. Water from thirteen ranches had from 0.05 to 1.26 ppm fluoride with a mean of 0.25. Hay from twelve ranches had from 0 to 8.3 ppm fluoride with a mean of 4.4 ppm. A few analyses of urine, horn, hoof, teeth, and bone from cattle (mostly beef) disclosed normal levels of excretion and storage. Physical examination of cattle on eleven ranches disclosed normal teeth in most individuals and only one case of lameness. All the results obtained indicate that no unusual or abnormally high sources of fluoride are available to the animals in the area. 2 references, 6 tables.
