Fuelwood production and sources in Wisconsin, 1981

The results of a detailed study of fuelwood production and sources in Wisconsin during 1981 will be helpful in planning and decision-making in wood procurement, forest resource management, and forest industry development. Highlights include a production level of 1.9 million cords, made up 52% of red oak and elm. Private land provided 92%, with rural woodland furnishing 78% of the fuelwood. Loggers cut four times as much from growing stock on commercial forest land as did households. No country produced more than 18,000 cords of fuelwood from growing stock on commercial land. 4 figures, 6 tables.
