Multiparameter studies of the emission of prompt neutrons in spontaneous fission of /sup 252/Cf
A new analysis is made of the data of a previous multiparameter experiment, which permits a complete kinematic picture of the emission of prompt neutrons in spontaneous fission of /sup 252/Cf to be obtained in the framework of the isotropic evaporation model. The neutron characteristics calculated by transformation and summation of the spectra of prompt neutrons from fixed fragments are compared with the results of direct measurements. It is shown that the isotropic evaporation model permits description of the experimental results on the angular and energy distributions of fission neutrons with accuracy about 10%. The experimental data obtained indicate the possible existence of anisotropy of the form 1+0.1 cos/sup 2/ theta/sub cms/ in the neutron angular distribution in the coordinate system fixed to a moving fragment.
