Summary report: Working group 1 on {open_quotes}nonconventional collider concepts and luminosity paradigms{close_quotes}

Journal Article · · AIP Conference Proceedings
OSTI ID:587060
This working group was charged with examining new luminosity paradigms and nonconventional collider concepts. The most significant new luminosity paradigm considered was the operation of 5 TeV center-of-mass colliders in a regime that relies strongly on quantum mechanical suppression of beamstrahlung. The nonconventional accelerator concepts{emdash}those that did not fall properly into one of the other working groups{emdash}were muon colliders and crystal accelerators. We also examined beam cooling and diagnostics. {copyright} {ital 1997 American Institute of Physics.}
