Microcrack permeability in tight gas sandstone

Journal Article · · SPE Repr. Ser.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5870412
A model of stress-dependent permeability was developed based on flow through microcracks. The compliance of the cracks is controlled by elastic deformation of Gaussian distribution of surface asperities, indented into the opposing crack face. The theory was compared to data from tight gas sand cores. 33 references.
