Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/5862458· OSTI ID:5862458

Nigeria ranks among the top 10 largest oil producers and exporters of the world, with production being as high as 2.4 million bbl/d. Its ultimately recoverable oil resources may range from 20.5 to 41.5 billion bbl, of which 6.1 billion bbl have already been produced through 1977. With accelerated exploration and development. Nigeria's production capacity could reach 3.0 to 3.3 million bbl/d and hold this level for 5 years. Probable production rate, however, is 2 to 2.5 million bbl/d for at least 10 years. Nigeria's natural gas resources are comparatively underdeveloped and underutilized.
