Thermoelectric refrigerator for gas analyzer

The authors describe a thermoelectric refrigerator for an air analyzer which cools an airstream by 24-30.4 K for a flow rate of 0.3 m/sup 3//h and a power consumption of less than or equal to 33.2 W. The setup time is 45 minutes. This refrigerator makes it possible to increase the average temperature of the heat-absorbing junction of the thermopile and thereby reduce the temperature differential with respect to the junctions and the power consumption of the thermopile, as compared with one whose cooled tube is made of a material with high thermal conductivity.
