Book ·
OSTI ID:5857109
The US Geological Survey and the US Bureau of Mines conducted this collaborative study to assess the potential for undiscovered resources and appraise the identified resources of the Cottonwood Canyon Wilderness Study Area, southwestern Utah. There are no mines, prospects, or mineralized areas; however, inferred subeconomic resources of building stone, silica sand, and limestone are present at the surface. There is a moderate mineral resource potential for silver, copper, gold, uranium, and vanadium beneath the study area. The resource potential for all other metallic minerals and for oil and gas is low. The energy resource potential for low-temperature geothermal sources is high. There is no energy resource potential for coal.
