Lifetimes for non mesonic decay in hypernuclei

The nonmesonic lifetime in the HQH Model is closely related to the ..delta..I = 1/2 rule, and we obtain a good fit to the /sup 12//sub ..lambda../C lifetime with a quark Hamiltonian which satisfies this rule. Hypernuclear structure with an accurate shell model is particularly crucial for proton- vs. neutron-stimulated ..lambda.. decays.
