Brazing innovations aid fusion reactor project

Joining two copper rings sandwiched between three porcelain ceramic rings with the copper rings attaching the assembly to a stainless steel housing is described. One simultaneous furnace braze joining these dissimilar materials was used after applying a titanium hydride surface coating on the ceramic. (FS)
