The formation of perovskite-like solid solutions on the basis of Sr/sub 6/M/sub 2/O/sub 11/ (M = Nb, Ta) occurs by replacement of Sr/sup 2 +/ ions by M/sup 5 +/ ions with simultaneous filling of the structural oxygen vacancies, leading to a variation in the oxygen conductivity with the composition of the solutions. The authors consider the formation of defects of the type Ti/sub Sr//sup ../, Mo/sub Sr/sup ..../ etc. in the structures of related compounds.
