New upper limit on the decay. mu -->. e. gamma gamma

This Letter reports on a new search for the muon-number--nonconserving decay ..mu -->..e..gamma gamma.. using two large NaI(Tl) crystals. The new upper limit obtained is R(..mu -->..e..gamma gamma..)<8.4 x 10/sup -9/ (90% C.L.).
