Application of lyoluminescence to the dosimetry of accelerator electrons

Journal Article · · High Energy Chem. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5844910
The LiF/H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/ lyosystem was used for the dosimetry of electrons (200, 400, and 700 keV) and /sup 60/Co ..gamma..-radiation. The upper limit of applicability of the system is 10/sup 7/ Gy; the lower limit, ignoring fading, is 2.5 x 10/sup 5/ Gy. The radiation defect distribution and the energy absorption as a function of depth in the crystal can be determined at doses less than 10/sup 5/ Gy. The LiF/H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/ system is applicable to the dosimetry of electrons and ..gamma..-radiation and can be used to determine the energy of electrons in the range 200-700 keV.
