Application of 2-D and dipolar dephasing /sup 13/C NMR techniques to the study of structural variations in coal macerals

Conference · · Prepr. Pap. - Am. Chem. Soc., Div. Fuel Chem.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5842969
Data are reported for characterizing a series of whole coal macerals using conventional cross-polarization magic angle sample spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (CP/MAS C-13 NMR), dipolar dephasing, and 2-D dipole dephasing techniques. These data provided much new structural information and demonstrate that multiple pulse and 2-D spectroscopic techniques can be used on complex carbonaceous materials. Data obtained on maceral samples separated by the density gradient centrifugation method are also reported. (BLM)
