Flow Measurement Co., Tulsa, has developed a new technique to boost natural gas flow from marginal oil producers and still stay within the economic limits of profitable field operations. Basically the new technique is a simple compressor cylinder driven by the excess power from the walking beam of an oil-well pumping unit. The Ecopres technology is unique in today's marketplace because it is simple in design, rugged, relatively low in cost, and simple to operate. Cost is roughly $350 to $400/compressor hp; packages can be as small as 4 to 5 hp. Oil production may also be increased.
