An apparatus is described an comprising: a pedestal, a link providing a first axis of rotation and a second axis of rotation, the first axis of rotation being substantially horizontal and the second axis of rotation being substantially perpendicular to the first axis of rotation, the link being mounted upon the pedestal so as to be rotatable about the first axis of rotation, the link comprising a flat arcuate, disc-shaped portion having a first gear formed around at lest a part of its periphery and a wedge-shaped portion extending therefrom, the first axis of rotation extending through the center of the disc-shaped portion and the second axis of rotation extending through an edge of the wedge-shape portion. a panel for receiving rays of the sun, the panel being mounted upon the link and rotatable about the second axis of rotation,a first means for rotating the link about the first axis of rotation, and a second means for rotating the panel about the second axis of rotation, whereby the first means and the second means move the panel as appropriate to track and receive rays of the sun.
