Mound activities in chemical and physical research: July-December 1985
Four areas in low temperature research are reported. They are: ion densities in impure tritium; deuterium triple point temperature standard; second virial of helium 4 and helium 3 for gas thermometer; and thermal diffusion of polyatomic gases. In the area of separation research, the liquid phase thermal diffusion factor for (CH/sub 3/)/sub 4/ S: was measured. Also, numerical tests for the plutonium work integral are suggested, and the application of this expression to practical problems is discussed. 55 refs., 12 figs., 15 tabs.
