Construction of new general aviation runway at Snohomish County Airport (Paine field), Everett, Washington

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5823844
A draft environmental impact statement (EPA No. 820518D) on a proposed runway for light planes at Paine Field, which is 22 miles north of Seattle describes runway construction, lighting, and safety features, as well as access and support facilities. The new runway would accommodate anticipated growth in airport operations and reduce pressures at existing facilities. The major negative impacts would be an increase in runoff pollutants, some degradation of ambient air quality, and noise pollution, in addition to the displacement of vegetation, wildlife, and a few commercial and private buildings. The Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970 and Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 require the impact study.
